That is why we are looking for a driver who doesn't just drive from A to B. We are looking for someone who understands what is involved in packing, transporting and installing works of art.

One day you’re installing an exhibition in a museum together with colleagues. The next day you’re collecting a work from an artist or driving an art transport abroad. Sometimes the work is ready exactly according to schedule. Sometimes an installation runs over and you have to come up with a practical solution on the spot.

That comes with the territory.

We handle the transport, packaging, storage and installation of works of art. We do this for museums, galleries, artists and collectors both in the Netherlands and abroad.

What will you do?

As an experienced art handler / driver, you carry out art transports and installations independently and together with colleagues.

In concrete terms, this means that you:

• works of art transported within the Netherlands and abroad;
• safely loads and unloads fragile and valuable items;
• artworks packed and prepared for transport or storage;
• installs and dismantles works of art at museums, galleries and other locations;
• consults with clients on-site regarding execution and planning;
• processes transport documents correctly;
• cares well for the vehicle, tools and packaging material;
• mentors less experienced colleagues when necessary.

This job will probably suit you if…

If you already have experience in art handling and can work independently with art objects. You stay calm when a schedule changes, see for yourself what needs to be done and communicate clearly with clients and colleagues. A driving licence is naturally important. But carefulness, technical insight and a sense of responsibility are at least as important.

This job is less suited to you if...

You only want to drive and would rather leave the rest to someone else. Art handling is physical and practical work. You get your hands dirty, sometimes work irregular hours and on international assignments you are also away from home for several days at a time. We prefer to be clear about that beforehand.
